BRATISLAVA, March 9, (WEBNOVINY) – If KDH wins remarkable confidence among citizens in elections, it will try to form a government, leader of the Christian-Democrats (KDH) Jan Figel said. “I appeal to voters, mainly to the disillusioned ones. KDH needs your vote. Only with KDH your vote will definitively not get lost,” Figel told a press conference on Friday.

Figel drew attention to the threat of potential loss of numerous center-right votes. “A half of every lost vote will go to Fico. Every vote, which will be given to a party that will have less than five percent, is a vote for the SMER party,” Figel stated. KDH is the only realistic alternative against the socialist politics of running into debts. According to him, KDH is the only center-right party that offers citizens certainty that the vote of its partisans will not be lost.

Slovakia has two alternatives on Saturday, Figel continued. The first one is socialist direction of the Greek type that leads to indebtedness, unemployment and bankruptcy. The other alternative is responsible freedom, healthy economy, and honest government. KDH offers such an alternative and will also offer it to partners if it wins sufficient support.

According to Figel, the real leader of the center-right parties will be the one picked by Slovak citizens. “Democracy belongs to them; they are administrators of public matters. They will give mandates to parties on Saturday and politicians and parties will respect it. KDH wants to listen to voters. Voters will decide about further development and the future of the Slovak Republic,” Figel replied to a statement of SDKU-DS Chairman Mikulas Dzurinda who said earlier on Friday that the leader of the center-right parties in Slovakia would be the one who would not form a post-election coalition with the opposition SMER-SD.
