Green Party in Slovakia Elects its Chairman

BRATISLAVA, October 10, (WEBNOVINY) — The Green Party reelected Pilinsky Peter as its chairman for another two-year term. Delegates are the party’s 15th congress in Bratislava elected their leadership in a secret ballot on Saturday. Pavel Petrik was elected deputy chairman and Martin Jona as the general secretary.

Pilinsky told SITA news agency that the congress confirmed the main program theses of the Green Party, whose primary objective is to protect human health by shaping a healthy environment for present and future generations. He said that all the previous governments in Slovakia so far have more or less failed in addressing the green topics. Because of this, the Green Party wants to represent on the Slovak political scene those voters who care for healthy lifestyle, the environment, and renewable energy.
