BRATISLAVA, April 18, (WEBNOVINY) — The Cabinet led by Prime Minister Robert Fico on Wednesday appointed missing deputy ministers of two ministries that until now operated without them. As of Thursday, April 19, Stefan Chudoba, former head of the Automobile cluster – western Slovakia will serve as deputy education minister. He was also active in consulting services, innovations, education and EU funds. The Cabinet appointed Magdalena Lacko-Bartosova to the post of the deputy minister of agriculture and rural development. Lacko-Bartosova worked at the Slovak Agricultural University in Nitra on the post of head of the sustainable agriculture and herbology department. Original candidate for the post of deputy agriculture minister was former minister Stanislav Becik, who, however, turned down the offer and will become an aide for agricultural topics at the ministry or the Cabinet’s Office.
The Cabinet also appointed new members of the executive committee of the government’s privatization agency the National Property Fund (FNM). Rudolf Samaj, Peter Kalivoda, Tomas Novansky and Juraj Gendra replaced on the committee dismissed nominees of the previous government. As of last week, the agency has a new chief, too. Branislav Bacik replaced Anna Bubenikova, who had been dismissed by the former government of Iveta Radicova. Bacik served as head of the fund’s supervisory board during the first government of Robert Fico between 2006 and 2010.
Furthermore, the new Cabinet on Wednesday took over Slovakia’s representation in international monetary institutions, too. In line with the government’s decision, Finance Minister Peter Kazimir is to replace his predecessor Ivan Miklos at the posts of governor in the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank. The Cabinet also decided on the post of alternate governor of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), where former Finance Ministry’s State Secretary Vladimir Tvaroska has been replaced by current State Secretary Vazil Hudak. The governor of the National Bank of Slovakia is the governor of the IMF for Slovakia.
