BRATISLAVA, September 2, (WEBNOVINY) — The Slovak economy continued to grow in the second quarter of this year at a relatively stable pace. According to updated data of the Statistics Office, the country’s GDP increased 4.7 percent y/y in real figures in the second quarter of this year, which represented only a minimum slowdown compared with a 4.8-percent growth in Q1 2010. The Statistics Office thus revised its mid-August flash estimate of the GDP growth in Q2 up 0.1 percentage point.
According to the Statistics Office, overall GDP formed in the second quarter totaled EUR 16.355 billion, which represents y/y growth of 4.9 percent in current prices while in the first three months the Slovak economy grew 2.8 percent.
