BRATISLAVA, October 13, (WEBNOVINY) — Cabinet ministers for the SaS party of Richard Sulik, which its three former coalition partners blame for the collapse of the government, remain in the Cabinet of Iveta Radicova. Culture Minister Daniel Krajcer stated on Thursday that it is not necessary to leave the outgoing cabinet. „Especially when we think that we did not do a bad job,” Krajcer told journalists after the Cabinet’s session. Ministers for SaS are now waiting for President Ivan Gasparovic who returns from a working visit in south-eastern Asia and for his decision. The ministers however declare that they will support „all what will be good“ while they are part of the Cabinet.
Defense Minister Lubomir Galko said he remains in the Cabinet though he does not feel fine there. He however thinks that the steps taken today and in the next days were not well managed. Nevertheless, he thanked the former coalition partners for how quickly they struck an accord with the opposition SMER-SD on early elections. He said that also citizens will remember it that when any problems surface, they will be able to promptly achieve an agreement with SMER. Galko said that Foreign Minister and SDKU Chairman Mikulas Dzurinda told him that following this remark he is no longer sorry about the end of the coalition and the government.
Labor Minister Jozef Mihal stated that his tax-levy reform ends. He is sorry for that as his team worked on it for over a year and it would have been a contribution for the people. Mihal does not see a chance that any draft bill would have a chance to pass. “Apart for the draft state budget bill for 2012, it is impossible for any other important bill to go though.
SaS on Tuesday did not support the enhanced EFSF in the parliament merged with a confidence vote in the Cabinet in spite of the threat of the Cabinet’s collapse. All members of the deputy caucus but Martin Fecko pulled out their MP ID cards from voting machines and refrained from the ballot. After the failed vote, Prime Minister told SaS chairman and Parliament Speaker Richard Sulik to resign from the top parliamentary post. She addressed the same appeal to ministers of her Cabinet for SaS. The three ministers for SaS called this appeal absurd.
