BRATISLAVA, April 2, (WEBNOVINY) — Cooperation with the Cabinet of Iveta Radicova was fair, stated President Ivan Gasparovic at a meeting on Monday with the departing Prime Minister Iveta Radicova on the occasion of the end of her prime ministerial mission expected on Wednesday early afternoon. The head of state recalled the Cabinet of Prime Minister Iveta Radicova on October 25, 2011, and charged it to continue in a caretaker role until a new cabinet is appointed after early elections. The cabinet was recalled after it lost a confidence vote in parliament, when the government of Iveta Radicova merged the confidence vote with a vote to support expansion of the EU rescue fund, when the ruling coalition party SaS did not support the measure and thus toppled the center-right government, of which it was a member.
As the presidential spokesman Marek Trubac told SITA, the president thanked the prime minister for her work on the demanding political post that Iveta Radicova leaves on Wednesday, April 4 when the new prime minister will be appointed following the collapse of the government and early parliamentary elections. The president praised fair cooperation with the departing cabinet and gave flowers to Iveta Radicova and wished all the best to the first female prime minister in the history of the country in her private life.
