BRATISLAVA, March 19, (WEBNOVINY) — Outgoing Prime Minister Iveta Radicova will return to the academic environment after the end of her term; she will give a lecturer at Comenius University in Bratislava. “She will take up her position of professor at the Social Work Department at the Institute of Social Studies and Medical Pedagogy, Comenius University,” Comenius University Pedagogic Faculty Dean Alica Vancova told SITA news agency. The probable date of her return is April 1, while it should be a full-time job. Vancova said that Radicova will teach social policy and sociological subjects.
The prime minister has already announced she would retire from politics and accepted an offer to give lectures at the prestigious St. Antony’s College in Oxford. In November of last year during her foreign official trip, she lectured there about restoring confidence. Radicova graduated from post-PhD study at Oxford University in 1990. Comenius University welcomes Radicova’s lecturing at Oxford. “We assume this would also increase rating of our faculty, Ms. Professor would bring to our school new very significant scientific-research contacts,” Vancova noted. Radicova was allegedly also given an offer to become Slovak Ambassador to London while her name is also mentioned in connection with the Permanent Mission of the Slovak Republic to the United Nations.
Radicova will lead the outgoing government until President Ivan Gasparovic takes the authorization from her and appoints a new Cabinet. Newly elected parliament will take their oath of office on Wednesday, April 4, at the founding session of Parliament. It is expected the president will appoint the new Cabinet on the same day.
