BRATISLAVA, March 21, (SITA) – Slovak Republic will not participate in military actions in Libya, agreed President Ivan Gasparovic and Prime Minister Iveta Radicova on Monday when talking about the situation in this country. The head of state, however thinks that a situation, which would possibly lead to re-assessing Slovak participation in such operation, might occur in the future.

The spokesman for the president, Marek Trubac informed that both top officials consider the situation in Libya politically unpredictable. However, Slovakia still supports the weapon embargo on Libya and does support humanitarian activities helping the civilians. Radicova and Gasparovic agreed as well that Slovakia will not obstruct any activities approved by the UN Security Council resolution on the no-fly zone.
