BRATISLAVA, June 21, (WEBNOVINY) — The departure of ex-KDH deputy chairman Daniel Lipsic in late May did not negatively affect political preferences of the party that remained the second strongest political party in Slovakia. The results of a survey of the Focus pollster between June 5 and June 11 show that KDH would win 10.8 percent of the vote while in May it enjoyed 10.7-percent support. The ruling SMER-SD however traditionally remains on top. Compared with May, its preferences fell 4 percentage points when in June 42.3 percent of those polled would vote for the party of Robert Fico and it was 46.3 percent in May.

Preferences of all opposition parties but SDKU-DS surged from May. OLaNO of Igor Matovic came third in the Focus survey with 8.5 percent (6 percent in May) followed by MOST-HID with 7.4 percent (6.3 percent), SaS with 7.1 percent (6.5 percent), SDKU with 6.5 percent (6.9 percent). Also SNS would make it to parliament in June that won 5 percent, up 1.7 percentage points from the previous month.
