BRATISLAVA, November 3, (WEBNOVINY) — On Wednesday, the Slovak Parliament did not elect a new prosecutor general. Eva Misikova and Dobroslav Trnka made it to the second round of a secret ballot that will take place on Thursday. This stems from unofficial results which several deputies confirmed to SITA news agency. The candidate of the SaS, KDH and MOST-HID party Eva Misikova was supported by 49 deputies, while incumbent Prosecutor General Dobroslav Trnka, who was supported by the opposition SMER-SD won 70 votes.
The candidate of the strongest ruling coalition party the SDKU-DS Jan Hrivnak did not succeed, as he received fewer votes than his opponents.
